Description

The current church was built between 1834 and 1836 in a neoclassical style. The designs developed by the Office of the Superintendent were not fully followed. Instead, the church became almost a copy of Annerstad Church. The consecration took place on August 12, 1838, and was conducted by Bishop Esaias Tegnér.

The church consists of a rectangular nave with a chancel in the east and a semicircular sacristy behind the chancel. At the western end of the nave is the church tower with the main entrance. There is another entrance on the south side of the nave. The tower is equipped with a period-typical four-sided lantern crowned by a cross. The interior is of the hall church type with a wooden barrel vault. The chancel area is marked by a chancel arch. The original sacristy is located behind the altar arrangement. From early 1957 until April 1958, a restoration was carried out, during which the church room received its current color scheme in gray, blue, and red.
