Lake Trummen

The area around Lake Trummen offers lakeside walks close to town, and hidden inlets that will give you that wilderness feeling. To the north, there is Lake Trummen, with open waters that border on built-up and green areas. To the south, there is the Skirviken inlet hidden beyond reeds, osiers and quagmires. Here, where both watercourses meet, a bicycle bridge leads from Teleborg castle to the Brändö peninsula. The castle also marks the beginning of a trail that leads to the Skirviken bird tower. Immense spruce line the trail. Cloudberries and cranberries grow along the marsh-like shores of the lake, In May and June, hare’s-tail cottongrass moss lend a spectacular snow-white gleam to this area. Goldcrest, crested tit and willow tit whisper to each other in the language of the great woods. The lake often hosts mute swans, great crested grebes, common goldeneyes and goosanders.
