Tjurken runt

18,5 kilometres long bike trail with beautiful surroundings, around the
lake Tjurken. The trail offers views of the lake, as well as meadows and
deciduous forests.

Start in idyllic Målaskog. Here you will find “the flower mountain in
Sunnerbo”, a nature reserve that is covered in blue and wood anemones
during the spring. Bike on the embankment of the old railroad and follow
Banvallsleden past the swimming beach. You can also stop by at the side cottage named
“Strands jordkula”, which shows how the poor used to live in the 1800s.
Follow the signs for Banvallsleden to the larger road towards Vislanda and
follow the rail to Åäng. Continue towards Piggaboda, you can also take a longer
route to Piggaboda kvarn, the old mill. The trail then continues towards
the quarry “Adamstuberg and Hökås”. Continue towards Tesås, where you can take
another detour and visit the mansion Sälleberg. Thereafter you can continue
back to Målaskog.
