Description

The vicarage, which is now a pleasant and intimate hostel, is located in the tiny village of Södra Ljunga in Småland. This is where Per Henrik Ling, the father of Swedish gymnastics, grew up. His childhood home, which is located right by the vicarage, has been converted into a small museum. The area is characterized by vibrant countryside life and offers plenty of options for natural and cultural experiences.

Quiet forests, sparkling lakes, and easy hiking trails and paths await you. The many nature reserves offer wonderful natural experiences all year, with abundant flora and fauna, not least around the wetlands at Ljungasjön and Gölsjömyren nature reserve. The area also has an interesting natural history. Here, you will find yourself in the middle of The Land of Legends, a village that is home to a strong storytelling tradition and a simply magical fairytale museum. More contemporary history awaits you at Älmhult with its IKEA Museum, just a short distance away.

At Södra Ljunga Vandrarhem you stay in an authentic environment in quiet and peaceful surroundings. Let yourself breathe and relax all year round, whether you are on the road or spending a few days with us to experience the beautiful surroundings. The garden and its expansive green areas and comfortable seating is a place to relax and play. In summer, the tall lush trees offer nice shade for your morning coffee, and in winter you can enjoy looking out at the beautiful landscape outside. Södra Ljunga Hostel welcomes guests all year round. Warm welcome!
