Description

Skannar

Until 1860 this place was called

Skatebacken, but you will now get to read about why it is now called Spökebacken.

1860-1870

Pastor Palmgren did excavations here. He liked to joke with people and

sent some campers to Ljungby station with a box to be sent

away. He had put some kittens in the box and when the men enter it

dark forest it starts to sound about the box. In the belief of a ghost in the box so throw

they it and run away! After this incident, Palmgren used to dress up in

sheets and scare people at night and the Skatebacken was called instead

Spökebacken and is associated with the uncanny - even though it really wasn't

so scary!

Recorded

1993 by Solveig Carlsson, Bolmsö, as she heard it told.
