People, boats, birds and fish. Everything comes together in Lake Helga. The lake's environments are rich in life. For its beauty and values to endure, we need the judgment and respect of all visitors. In this way, we can continue to enjoy the distinctive wilderness calls of the guillemot and the ospreys gliding through the sky. A natural treasure of global interest, more than 100 bird species are regularly found at Lake Helga. The Swedish populations of common guillemot and osprey are of great international importance. The calling loon and soaring osprey also account for much of the experience of Lake Helga.

The fact that the common loon, osprey, gulls, gulls and other birds are given the opportunity to nest in peace and quiet is crucial for Lake Helga to continue to have a rich life. The osprey nests are used year after year. Some years they are empty, only to be occupied the following year. Even if you can't see any birds at the nest, it doesn't have to be empty. The chicks often press so hard into the nest that they are impossible to spot from the sea or land. Seagulls, gulls and terns will let you know clearly and loudly if you get too close to the nest or chicks. If they fly close to you, it means you should move away as soon as possible.
