Description

Walk through the Evedalsåsen Ridge nature reserve, and you may well get an idea of the mighty forces that shaped this place. When the glaciers receded, great quantities of water flooded the countryside. Together with stone, gravel and sand, this formed the boulder ridge. Up on the ridge, you'll also find kettle holes - holes that were created when giant blocks of ice melted. This area also bears the marks of Hurricane Gudrun's attack. On the remains of the burnt, fir trees lying on the ground, you can find the rare Pycnoporellus fulges mushroom in all its yellow splendour. Wild strawberries and veronica grow up here on the ridge.
