Description
The summer scenes in Braås Park are reminiscent of some lush, southern European views. Oaks, elms and hazel follow grazing meadows with fritillaries and common blue butterflies. The songs of redstarts, spotted flycatchers and wood warblers are almost always present. Pasqueflower, cowslips, mountain arnica and cat's foot form part of the flora. Humans and history have together formed the nature of this area, from the fields of the 17th century and the English gardens of the 19th century, to today's pleasant mix of diverse landscaping. Earth Week in Växjö 2021 The area around Braås park has been used by humans for centuries. The unique tree environments and pastures have grown and been shaped by centuries of agricultural activity on the site.
