Description
A hilly and challenging, but oh so nice round - half paved road and half a mixture of gravel and forest road, including a good piece of embankment (old Ydrefors-Vimmerby track). After Södra Vi and about 13 km of cycling, the long, but mostly "kind" climb up to Södra Kvill begins. Once there, it becomes a paved road down to Ventzelholm. Here it is steep downhill in parts and it goes really fast. Take it easy!
After Ventzelholm it becomes a flat and nice forest road and in Solbacka the old embankment takes over. The first 3-4 km is mostly forest road / path that can be a bit "wet" in some places. During the summer there may be some vegetation that challenges. Then it gets better and more gravel-road-like. A great stretch along Stångån all the way to Björnebro. On the other side of the old Pelarna / Mariannelundsvägen, the embankment continues for a few more kilometers. After a little more gravel road, you cycle the last bit towards Vimmerby on paved and easily cycled road.

Facts
Take it carefully:
- A bit after Skräddarefall, on the way to Södra Kvill, there is a fairly steep downhill with a wrong left turn and sometimes some loose gravel - be careful here!
- The old embankment along Stångån is fine cycling, but in summer, a little bit after Solbacka there can be quite a lot of vegetation and some part can be a bit bumpy and wet, especially in spring.
Do not miss:
- At Skräddarefall you can turn left and cycle about 400 meters for a fantastic view of the area; then back to the road towards Södra Kvill.
- Once in Södra Kvill, it is definitely worth cycling the almost 800 meters to Kvilleken and the beautiful pastures in the nature reserve; sit down by the old oak (there are some tables and benches).
- Treat yourself to a stop or two along the Stångån; the finest is at Brånaholm with rushing water at the remains of the old paper mill; perfect place to breathe and just be; a little bit beyond Brånaholm there is a similar place - Mariedal - here you can even take a dip at the small sandy beach.
- The really old stone bridge at Björnebro; a real beauty.
Time: (approx) 15 km/h = 3 hours 20 minutes
Other: Service in Södra Vi. Swim Stångån at Mariedal's former paper mill (just before Mossnäs) or in Försjön.
