Description
The castle is located on Alvaret, west of Triberga village, next to Triberga bog, which was much larger during the castle's period of use. The castle is quite small and, like the medieval Eketorp castle, it has a low outer ring wall with a width of about five meters, which suggests that the castle was used in the Middle Ages. Excavations around 2000 uncovered one of the gates, and also revealed remains of buildings from both the Iron Age and the Middle Ages. A partially filled-in depression inside the castle was emptied during the excavations and found to be a waterhole.
