Description

A cairn 11 meters in diameter and 1.7 meters high with a cold-masonry limestone rim in three courses. It was investigated in 1967 and subsequently restored. The cairn contained at least two burials, a cremation grave and a skeleton grave. Along with the burnt bones of the cremation burial, there were several fire-damaged bronze objects and shards of two clay vessels. The cremation burial was a male grave from the 4th century AD. The skeletal grave was partially destroyed, but contained grave goods in the form of a fragmentary iron knife, a stone dragonfly and six beads. It was interpreted as a female grave from the Migration-Viking period (400-1050 AD).
