Description
Visit a real forest! Strömby has a nature reserve, a so-called coniferous forest. Coniferous forests of this type and size are unusual in the region and therefore, according to the county administrative board, "very worthy of protection".
Here, lush blueberry rice spreads out and the area is small-hilly and mosaic-like. The average age of the forest is about 100 years, but the whole area is very varied. In some parts of the forest there are really large, centuries-old pines. The forest area lacks a path system and can therefore be quite difficult to access. However, Torsås Orienteering Club has made an orienteering map that covers large parts of the area. A beautiful hiking trail also runs through the nature reserve.
Map material can be ordered via the Tourist Office.
