Skinnskälla radby

The village is located on a plateau south of Emådalen and is divided by the border between Kalmar and Jönköping counties. Originally there was a farm on each side of the border: Skinnskälla frälsegård in Jönköping county, and Skinnskälla rusthåll in Kalmar county. The properties have retained their names even though the farms later grew into villages. At the end of the 18th century, the lands of the manor and the armory were roughly the same size as the current properties.
