Silverdalens bruk och Herrgården

In 1874, a sawmill with a planing mill, grinding mill and machines for cardboard was built at Hällefors. The factory was destroyed by fire in 1903 but was rebuilt.

In 1908, the new owner, Fredrik Esmarsch, built a wooden villa in Jugendstil at the mill.

Today's manor house is the result of a rebuilding in 1928.

The garden was laid out with the help of the famous garden architect Abelin.

In 1970, the park was simplified by removing all the plants and flower beds that required maintenance.

The manor house was renovated in the 1980s and today all the salons and murals are in their original condition.

The mill closed down in 2002 and the manor is now in private ownership.
