Description

This nature reserve is home to a wide variety of species, especially fungi. The mosaic of old coniferous and deciduous forests, wetlands and small pools means that many species can thrive here. It's also a great place for us humans, with magical spruces, gnarled oaks and moss-covered stones and boulders!

Cultural land

In the reserve you walk in land that was once the outskirts of the village of Risebo. Here the cattle went to summer grazing among spruces and pines. The farmers also collected firewood and timber from the outfield. They did not collect large quantities, which is why there are plenty of old trees left in the reserve. The reserve's deciduous forests are mainly found in connection with the fields closest to the village. This is probably where the farmers had their fields and meadows in the past.

Mushroom paradise

Risebo has plenty of mushrooms in late summer and fall. The well-known ones include edible mushrooms such as chanterelles, Karl-Johan and red-yellow trumpet mushrooms. Mycologists (mushroom connoisseurs) have many other species to discover. Here they can see rarities such as the velvet mushroom, the rusty spindle mushroom and the splendid finger mushroom.

Flowering deciduous forest

The southern part of the nature reserve has a deciduous forest with lime trees that are up to 200 years old. In spring and early summer, you can see many different herbs in the rich soils, such as wood anemone, dwarf horsetail, toothwort, lesser celandine and spring pea.

Fint naturreservat. Vi gick en led som delvis går i reservatet och delvis utanför reservatet.
Mycket vacker natur, ett flertal sjöar längs leden, lämpligt placerade rastplatser. Leden kräver ingen större vandringserfarenhet, lämplig för nybörjare.
