Description

Enjoy the beautiful nature of Småland as you glide along in a canoe on the Emån river in Vetlanda municipality. In nature there is the peace we need and it provides experiences to talk about even after the holiday!

The Emån is southern Sweden's most valuable watercourse. Its main channel flows above Bodafors, high up in the Småland highlands. From there, the water has to travel 22 miles before it reaches the Kalmar Strait. The entire water system, with all its tributaries, consists of more than 80 miles of running water and more than 950 lakes.

The Emån canoe trail starts in the largest tributary, Solgenån, and continues through the main Emån river into the Baltic Sea. Part of the trail flows through Vetlanda municipality, through the towns of Skede, Holsbybrunn, Alseda, Ädelfors and Kvillsfors. If you are interested in hiring a canoe, you can contact the company Emventure.

At Emåförbundet you can see current water flows and water levels in Emån.
