Description
Gullabo church replaced a worn chapel from the early 1700s. Construction of the church began in 1804 with the help of parishioners. After diligent work, vicar Gustaf Adolf Reinius inaugurated the church in 1805. Since then, the church has undergone several different renovations.
The latest renovation was done in 2011 when it was adapted for accessibility. The church is made of wood with the choir facing southeast. Behind the chancel is the sacristy enclosed by two smaller rooms with their own entrances. The main entrance is at the north-west end of the church. The roof of the church is made of bricks and in its southeastern part is the church tower where the church bells hang.
