Description

Böda Ecopark

Ekopark Böda is a unique and inviting landscape on the northernmost tip of Öland. Here you can walk along long barren beaches with magnificent orchids or take yourself back to the Iron Age among Böda's well-preserved ancient remains.

Ecopark Böda offers everything from barren sand heaths with storm-turned pines, to calcareous meadow pine forests with a diversity of orchids and lush deciduous groves with giant oaks.

Böda not only has fascinating nature to offer - its cultural heritage is also highly visible. The large number of well-preserved ancient monuments is unique in northern Europe. Almost completely intact villages with house foundations, stone enclosures and burial grounds tell of the life of ancient islanders here.

One of Sweden's most popular leisure areas

On sunny summer days, the bay's beautiful sandy beaches are popular. A cycle path runs around the whole of Böda, passing several of the many attractions. The forest landscape is very valuable and varied thanks to a long cultural history.

In order to preserve and recreate the unique diversity in Böda, Sveaskog has chosen to make the area an ecopark. Through well-planned nature conservation management, we will create more meadow pine forest, broadleaf forest, wetlands and highlight ancient remains and cultural monuments.
