The building remained in existence into the 1930s. The sawing season was probably fairly short and it was mainly in the spring in connection with the spring flood that the water supply in the Haga Valley stream was sufficient for sawmill operations. However, the sawmill's dam system for storing water was cleverly arranged. The terrain was such that it was quite easy to construct an upper dam as well, thereby roughly doubling the amount of water stored. The embankment between the two ponds probably served as a road at one time. It may have been part of the old King's Road, which was an important link between Kalmar and Stockholm.
