Description
Today, Stora Grönlid Nature Reserve is a lush deciduous forest. A few
giant oak and beech trees still remain from when the land was more open and
consisted of hayfields and grazing lands. Unusual mosses and lichens grow on
the ground, such as wood stitchwort, coral root, flat Neckera and pendulous
winged moss. The lesser spotted woodpecker, pied flycatcher and wood warbler
can all be heard in the forest and there are plenty of wild boar tracks.
Stora
Grönlid can be reached via a small gravel road from the north. The deciduous
forest is a nice place to visit, especially in spring. There are not many paths
in the area, but feel free to wander in the forest.

Directions
Stora Grönlid Nature Reserve is located about 9 km south of Rydaholm Church. From Rydaholm, on road 27 between Värnamo and Växjö, turn south towards Skriperyd. Turn left on the minor road in Skriperyd until you arrive at Stora Grönlid.
Regulations
The right of public access does not apply in full within the nature
reserve. The following are not permitted within Stora Grönlid Nature Reserve:
- destroying or damaging permanent natural features or lying or standing dead trees or bushes
-
making fires other than with wood brought from outside the reserve
-
setting up a caravan or camper van
-
displaying boards, signs, markings, posters or similar
-
using the area for organised competitive or exercise purposes other than conducting camp activity in existing ways
Other legislation on forest and land use also applies within the nature reserve.
