Description

Runestone from the Viking Age, Ed, Voxtorp.

The runestone is of gneiss and dates from the 11th century. It is 1.65 metres high, 1.25 metres wide and 0.1-0.2 metres thick.

The inscription on the rune stone translates as: “Torste made this memorial after Ätte, his son.”

Regulations

The runestone is an ancient remains and is protected by the Cultural Environment Act. Chapter 2, § 6. It is forbidden to disturb, remove, excavate, cover or through building, planting or otherwise alter or damage ancient remains without a licence under this chapter. Act (2013:548).
