Description

Enskällebo mountain
on the northern edge of Bredaryd parish is one of the highest viewpoints in the
area. In the centre of the mountain is a cave called Jättefärstan, where
according to old folklore there lived a giant called Enskälle. He was disturbed
by the sound of the church bells and made two unsuccessful attempts to destroy
Bredaryd’s church tower by throwing a huge stone at it. The stone remains and you can also visit the giant
Enskälle’s cave just below the top of Enskällebo mountain. The two-metre high
Bohus granite sculpture in Bredaryd square is a reminder of this legend.
Purchased by the Municipality of Värnamo in 1984.
