‘Löst konflikt’
(Resolved conflict) stands outside the hotel at the western abutment of the
Åbron bridge, where Lundberg’s furniture factory once stood. The stainless
steel and bronze sculpture reads: “Här låg Lundbergska fabriken. År
1904 bildade arbetarna fackförening. En konflikt följde. Den löstes år 1911. Föreningsrätten var härmed erkänd” (Here stood the
Lundberg factory. In 1904, the workers formed a trade union. A conflict
followed. It was resolved in 1911. Thus, the right of association was
recognised).

Rune Karlzon trained
as a master wood carver in Jönköping and then studied at Konstfack (University
of Arts, Crafts and Design) in the 1950s before training as a master stone
carver in Stockholm.
