Artwork: Löst konflikt

‘Löst konflikt’ (Resolved conflict) stands outside the hotel at the western abutment of the Åbron bridge, where Lundberg’s furniture factory once stood. The stainless steel and bronze sculpture reads: “Här låg Lundbergska fabriken. År 1904 bildade arbetarna fackförening. En konflikt följde. Den löstes år 1911. Föreningsrätten var härmed erkänd” (Here stood the Lundberg factory. In 1904, the workers formed a trade union. A conflict followed. It was resolved in 1911. Thus, the right of association was recognised).

Rune Karlzon trained as a master wood carver in Jönköping and then studied at Konstfack (University of Arts, Crafts and Design) in the 1950s before training as a master stone carver in Stockholm.
