The reserve is located a few kilometers southwest of Mörsil. In Mörsil you drive over the Indalsälven river, and 1.6 kilometers after the southern bridge attachment, a tolled forest road goes in on the right. The road runs along the southern shore of Lake Liten. From the crossing at Sällsjövägen it is about six kilometers to the reserve.

Welcome to Sandtjärndalen. Please note that within the reserve it is not allowed to:

• make fires, except in specially designated places
• climbing trees or deliberately staying closer than 100 meters to a bird of prey's nest, lair or pot
• damage the ground, boulders or vegetation, dry trees or other dead wood, for example by causing driving damage, climbing rocks and taking live and dead branches from trees
• picking and collecting natural products from the plant, mushroom and animal kingdom, with the exception of berries and edible mushrooms
• drive a motorized vehicle off-road
• carry out scientific or other research without the permission of the county administrative board
• construct snowmobile trails.

The regulations do not prevent hunting and fishing.
