32. Ruvallen - Risåsstugan (medel)

Start the walk from Ruvallen towards Risåsstugan with a detour east to Ruändan with rock paintings, see also route 31. At the tree line there is a rock ledge and rock paintings. Reindeer, bears, moose and people can be seen in the four-thousand-year-old paintings. The path to the west then takes you down to woodlands and the fault crack Evagraven, which is 800 meters long, up to 25 meters wide and 15 meters deep. Go exploring down into the canyon. Further west you can visit the Fish Hole Trench - another canyon, known to harbor a protected strain of dwarf toad.

From Ruändan towards Risåsstugan you have to cross Särvdalen and Särvan. The safest way is to cross on the bridge along the snowmobile trail between Messlingen and Storsjön. If you want to walk on the trail all the way to Risåsstugan, you can choose the path from Messlingen that runs parallel to the snowmobile trail, just west of Fiskhålsgraven.

Many moose migrate through Särvdalen between Ljungdalsfjällen and Hedeskogarna. Maybe you will be lucky enough to see one! Good fishing in Särvan and nearby lakes.
