31. Messlingen - Ruvallen (lätt)

From the sheepfold at Ruvallen's parking lot, you walk a well-trodden path east, from woodlands up over marshes with paths. At the tree line on the eastern tip of Flatruet is the rock ledge with the rock paintings. Reindeer, bears, moose and people are depicted in the paintings, which are more than four thousand years old. The path west along the Ruändan ridge then takes you to the fault crack Evagraven, which is 800 meters long, up to 25 meters wide and 15 meters deep. Go exploring down into the canyon! From here you can then turn south back down towards Ruvallen. Alternatively, continue west towards Fiskhålsgraven - another canyon known to harbor a protected strain of dwarf toad.
