Description

The church was built in 1926–1928 according to drawings by architects Curt Björklund and Karl Martin Westerberg in Stockholm and was inaugurated by the then bishop of Härnösand diocese, Ernst Lönegren. The first vicar of the parish, Viktor Järnefors, was responsible for the construction, and he was helped by the villagers of Funäsdalen, who worked 100 days to get their own church. The building has a brick frame and consists of a rectangular nave, with a narrower chancel to the east. On the west side of the nave is a porch with an entrance. North of the chancel is a sacristy, and above the chancel is a ridge turret where a church bell hangs.

The paintings that decorate the organ loft were painted by the artist Edward Berggren in 1928 and show the apostles. The altarpiece is a 17th-century Dutch work attributed to Henricus Noêll.

The other 5 paintings in the church and sacristy are painted and donated by the artist Stig Marn, 1912-1966, who until his death was active at Marngården in Tänndalen.

Next to the church there is a tin box with pilgrim passports and pilgrim stamps for those walking the St Olav Rombo Way pilgrimage trail.
