7. Dalsvallen - Nyvallen (lätt)

The Sonfjällsmassivet massif is isolated in the middle of Härjedalen. The silhouettes of Sonfjället, Korpflyet and Gråsidan are characteristic and visible from large parts of the landscape. A small part of the Sonfjället massif was set aside in 1909 as one of the first national parks in Europe. In 1989, the national park was expanded so that the entire mountain and surrounding forest landscape were protected. In Sonfjället National Park you have the opportunity to see bears. Especially if you hike in the fall and look up the slopes where the bears eat berries.

If you start in Dalsvallen, you can follow a marked trail all the way to Nyvallen. Follow the trail past the Sveduberget nature reserve and on towards Sododalen. On the bare mountain between Sonfjället Medstöten and Korpflyet is Hästtjärn with a windbreak. If you want to see more of the mountain coniferous forest, choose the trail around Stora and Lilla Ryvålen.

Nyvallen below Sonfjället has a unique living pasture that has been in continuous operation since the 18th century. There are also cabin rentals, a nature center and a café. Various long hiking trails start from the farm.

Combine it with fishing in Rånden, the river south of Dalsvallen. But don't forget the fishing license! Among others, Hans Lidman has written about fishing in Rånden in the book "Fjällfisken hugger".
