From Östersund, take the E:45 north to Hammerdal. At Hammerdal continue over the bridge at Hammerdalssjön. After the bridge, turn immediately right on the road signposted Grenås. On this road you drive about 9 kilometers and then drive straight north on a smaller forest road. After about 2 kilometers you have arrived.

Welcome to Björntjärnlokarna. Please note that within the reserve it is not allowed to:

• capture, disturb or harm mammals, birds, frogs and reptiles, as well as damage their nests and spawning grounds or collect eggs,
• pick and collect species of any kind, except berries and edible mushrooms
• climbing nest trees or deliberately staying closer than 100 meters to a bird of prey's nest, lair or burrow
• damaging the ground, boulders, vegetation, dry trees or other dead wood
• make fires, other than with firewood, and
• drive motorized vehicles in terrain except on existing snowmobile trails
