Tiselhagen, Naturreservat

Tiselhagen is a nature reserve with mainly forest. There are a large number of aspens, which is quite unusual on Gotland. For those who like to look through a magnifying glass, we can attract several unusual lichens.

The nature reserve Tiselhagen is located on the north side of the gravel road between Rings farm and Filehajdar and just under a kilometer southeast of Tingstädeträsk. The area is located in a depression between the two large rocky areas Filehajdar in the northeast and Hejnumhällar in the south, and the soil cover is relatively deep here. The area is covered with a fresh to moist mixed forest with a large element of flames and stumps. The proportion of aspen is unusually high for Gotland conditions, which is a prerequisite for the presence of several unusual species of lichen, such as noble lichen and common twig lichen. Another rare lichen that occurs in Tiselhagen is the mealy lichen, which grows on oak. The coral lead lichen is common on the sparse grove elms.
