Description
The shallow banks of the Baltic Sea are important habitats for gray seals, a variety of seabirds and fish. Salvorev-Kopparstenarna is one such area.
This is a marine reserve that stretches from eastern Fårö via Salvorev and Gotska Sandön to the infamous Kopparstenarna shoals and the Swedish territorial sea border. The reserve consists of an extensive shallow area that is an important feeding area for several species of seabirds and an important reproduction area for fish, including turbot. At low tide, groups of gray seals can be seen from Norsta Auren on Fårö, lying on the Innerkullen reef less than 2 kilometers out.
