Description

Sillerberget nature reserve slopes down towards and extends a bit out into Sillersjön, which is part of the Ängraån nature conservation area. The height difference between the top of the nature reserve and the lake is 160 meters. There are no paths, so you can roam freely in the area, but it is also possible to walk along the forest road that runs through the area. The area is located 7.5 kilometers southwest of Kårböle in Ljusdal municipality and covers 48 hectares. Spruce grows in the forest. There has probably been a fire in large parts of the area, as there is a large proportion of deciduous trees in places, including aspen, birch and willow.

The entire slope has several streams that run through the nature reserve.

For a long time, the area has been relatively free from human influence. Therefore, there are plenty of old, rough, standing and lying dead trees. This means that several unusual species live in the area, such as the red-listed lichens lung lichen and hull lichen.

Insect and woodpecker tracks are common in the trees. Nesting three-toed woodpeckers have been found in the area.
