Tjärnbodarna

In 1663 the farm was used by Olof Bengtsson, Mats Ersson, "old" Mats Olofsson, Erik Bertilsson and young Mats Olofsson from Tjärna.

In the 1811-1817 land transfer, there were ten co-owners, six of whom were from Tjärna. The others came from Gärde, Gräv and Moje.

Even in the summer of 1933, eight farmers had cows grazing at the Tjärn farms. At most, there were nine households, which together had 35-40 cows and some young animals.

In 1934, Sven Liss from Tjärna was a shepherd boy in "Tjärnbuan". He was then only nine years old.

Tilda Blomkvist was Tjärnbodarna's last herdsman and she stopped her herding in 1957. In the last summer she had four cows.

In a cultural-historical environmental analysis, Tjärnbodarna has been described as an area of cultural-historical and environmental value.
