Tandflyttas Naturreservat

The area is located in the slightly hilly forest landscape east of the Västerdal River. There is a really old pine forest with trees over 300 years old. There is also a fine bog with high birdlife values.

In the far west there is a coniferous forest with some old aspens and willows. The age of the trees varies between 90-200 years. The forest is very rich in both lying and standing dead wood. To the east, the forest is almost like a primeval forest and is considered to have unique natural values. Some of the old pines are over 300 years old! Dead wood is found in the form of dry bark, stumps and flames - to the delight of many insects, fungi, lichens and birds.

Tandflyttmyren was inventoried in 1979 and was then judged to have a rich bird life and was given class 3 in the bird marsh inventory. Breeding curlews and willow sparrows were found here. The status of the bird life today is unclear. However, it is known that the natural Tandvålsbäcken has a rich fish life - perch, bream, brook lamprey, pike, ide, burbot and roach can be found there.
