Plintsberg naturreservat

On Plintsberg's western slope, between the railway and the village, lies this deciduous spruce forest on a limestone-affected slope. Here you can walk along the path that runs through the area and look for bluebells, unusual orchids and other lime-favored plants. The forest has grown up on what used to be fields and hay meadows but still has very high forest values. Many different birds thrive in the area and in spring the bird concert is striking. Just south of the reserve is Sätra Hasselskog - another fine nature reserve where the very unusual insect, the rowan leaf beetle, is found in several places. Hopefully it will find its way into the Plintsbergs reserve in the future.
