Description

Mora Church has a long and exciting history. As early as the end of the 13th century, a small grey stone church with a flat roof was built on the current site. This church was demolished and the current church dates from the end of the 15th century. The first church had three naves and a star vault and looked largely like the current one. What distinguishes them is that the current choir did not exist and that the church tower does not look like it did.

In the 18th century, the church underwent a major expansion and the current choir with its Baroque character was added. It is not known who painted the altarpiece, only the artists who made the framework and the pulpit are known. The altarpiece depicts Jesus on the cross with the Virgin Mary, Mary Magdalene and the apostle John below the cross.
