Description
At the time of the 1811-1817 land transfer, Gräsberget was Tjärna village's largest shire. Eleven of the 28 co-owners came from Tjärna. Of the other co-owners, five came from Gröntuv, five from Gagnefsbyn and the rest from Gräv, Moje, Nordåker and Nordbäck.
As early as 1734, the pasture was mentioned in connection with a dispute over grazing in northern Tansbodarna. At that time, soldier Olof Johansson Hjort, Mats Matsson in Nordåker and Olof Persson in Gagnefsbyn were living in Gräsberget, which had previously been farmed by their fathers.
In the 1930s, there were at most six farmers who had animals grazing at the summer pastures. There were around 25-30 cows in total, plus a number of young animals.
The summer of 1945 was the last that Gräsberget was a living pasture. Karin Hedin, Gröntuv, Anna Jakobsson, Gröntuv, Karolina Andersson, Nordåker and Kerstin Dicksved, Moje, were the last herdsmen.
