Description
Risanäs udde is a beautiful area of countryside and one of the last unexploited pieces of coastline around Ronneby. The promontory has a wide variety of habitats for many different species of animals and plants. For example, it is home to the parsley water-dropwort which grows in only seven known places in Sweden, all in the Ronneby area, making the Risanäs peninsula deserving of protection. The endangered pond bat is also found here. A very attractive area for walks, Risanäs is part of a larger connected natural area for outdoor recreation. It is possible to walk out to the promontory from the centre of Ronneby through beautiful countryside and there is also a birdwatching tower as part of Risanäs wetlands.
