Korpanabben

Near Skärva lies Korpanabben, a promontory offering fabulous views. There is a proper barbecue site with decent benches and a place for a fire, and a small bay for swimming if you feel like jumping in. There are also beautiful ancient oak trees. The high point of Korpanabben is just that, its height. Climb up on the rocks and you’ll get amazing views across to Karlskrona. Korpanabben is reached by walking down from Skärva Herrgård to the harbour and following the coast. Along the way you will pass the mausoleum of shipbuilder af Chapman, which he designed himself but which was never actually used as he is buried at Augerum church. It is said that his body was kept there for a few nights but that Chapman haunted the place so much they had to move him.
