Description
The popular island of Haglö in the Karlskrona archipelago covers about 35 hectares and is easily accessible to the west of Skillingenäs on the mainland. The island is protected as a nature reserve and part of a Natura 2000 area. In the summers, visitors in boats and grazing animals alike spend time on the island. The island has a toilet, rubbish bins and a barbecue area. Swim from the rocks or the shallow swimming bay just along from the jetty which has moorings for 3-4 boats. If you are interested in wildlife, you may be lucky enough to see the white-tailed sea-eagle, which nests nearby, while the many ancient oak trees are home to the rare hermit beetle. The waters around Haglö are popular for fishing, especially for pike. Source: Wikipedia
