Autumn experiences when the deciduous forest glows

Autumn is one of the best seasons to discover Blekinge Archipelago Biosphere Reserve with the help from our linked coastal trails and companies belonging to ARK56. Below, we have gathered some suggestions for cultural and nature experiences that are perfect for a lovely autumn day.

The stone wall at Kristianopel

Experience autumn and get a culturally rich walk through Kristianopels historic environment. The 3 km long stone wall in Kristianopel that surrounds the city was built in the early 17th century and has been up to nine meters high. When you walk along the wall, you can get a nice view of the city and also Kalmarsund from the crest of the wall. End the day trip with waffles or coffee with home-baked cookies at Cafe Sött o Salt down by the harbor.

During the autumn season, the café is open Friday-Sunday 11:00-16:00.

Paddle with the seals after 1 October

To protect the seals, it is forbidden to paddle in the Isaks Kläpp seal protection area during the summer. From October 1, however, it is allowed, and paddling with the seals can be a major highlight for any experienced paddler. However, do not disturb the seals. If you are not an experienced paddler, you can take a guided tour with Arkipelag Kajak, where you can also rent a dry suit via Dragsö camping.
