Description
Kohagens nature reserve is located on the outskirts of Surahammar. Here you can wander across pastures and in old spruce forest together with horses or sheep. Take the opportunity to have a coffee break at one of Kohagen's three rest areas and enjoy the view of the Kolbäcksån river. Many birds thrive in the nature reserve. Keep an eye out for the green wren, tawny owl, barn owl, long-eared owl, common starling and kingfisher. If you prefer to look at flowers, you can find the orchids virgin Mary's keys, green clover and night violet.

Directions
Kohagen is located 2 kilometers north of Surahammar. You can get to the reserve in several ways. The easiest way is to follow Ekängsvägen north from Hembygdsgården on foot or by bike. Follow the signs "Nature Reserve". You can also get to the reserve by walking along the footpath that runs along the canal bank west of Hovgården. You cross the Kolbäcksån river at Sättern and once across on the other side you follow the path north along the river. By car: Turn off road 66 north of Surahammar at the sign "Surahammar 2". Follow Dalskogsvägen to Nybyggsvägen where you turn right. After the railroad crossing, turn right at the sign "Naturreservat". Turn left at the next sign "Naturreservat" and park at Ekängstugan. Walk the path/road towards the football pitches. The entrance to the reserve is after about 100 meters on the right side.
