Currently
Currently, a collaboration between the Nature Conservation Association in Enköping, Enköping Municipality and the Uppland Foundation is taking place in the Uvberget nature reserve. Pastures and meadows are being recreated by clearing away spruces and bushes. A nearby area with a private landowner is also included in the new grazing area. The area will be grazed with goats and sheep from summer 2025. A new entrance and new signposts and information boards and rest areas will be developed. But you are welcome to visit the pasture now, even though the work is not yet finished!

Description
Adjacent to Alstasjön just west of Örsundsbro is a 30 m high rocky outcrop. From the top, where the cliffs plunge steeply downwards, you get a nice view of the Örsundaån valley. Uvberget nature reserve is small but varied. Combine the excursion with a swim at the adjacent Alstabadet.
Parking is available at Alstabadet. From here, follow the gravel road back to the highway and turn right. After about ten meters you will see a reserve sign on the left, it may be a little hidden by the greenery. Here begins the path that takes you up to the top of Uvberget.
The hike goes through deciduous forest with hazel and old lichen-covered oaks. The land has been used for grazing for a long time, but even though no animals have grazed here for thirty years, you can still find typical pasture plants here. One particular plant that can be found on the top of Uvberget is tulkört. The tulkört wants to grow warm, dry and bright and has its northern border in southern Uppland. Thanks to the tulkört, there are also plenty of the black-red knight bark beetle that mainly lives on that plant.
Feel free to bring a coffee and sit down on the rocks at the top. It is also nice to have a coffee at the bathing area, where there are picnic benches and dry toilets.
Remember that special rules apply in nature reserves, information is available on the entrance signs.
