The reserve is located in Värmlands län, Torsby municipality, 5 km NW Ransby, Klarälvdalen. From road 62 you drive over Klarälven in Ransby and further north past Branäs ski resort. 1 km north of the resort the road splits, then turn left and follow the gravel road up to the top of the mountain. After 4 km turn right onto a smaller forest road and continue for about 2.5 km to the reserve. The road follows Vingån for long stretches. The road is closed during the thaw.

In the reserve it is forbidden to:

• bring dogs that are not kept on a leash
• collecting invertebrates, such as beetles and land snails
• picking plants, mosses, lichens or wood fungi
• damage or remove trees and shrubs, including dead wood such as lying and standing dry trees and dry branches
• driving vehicles off the existing forest road
• damaging or removing natural objects or surface formation or damaging the ground cover
• use the area for commercial purposes in an organized manner, and for schools and institutions to use the area on a regular basis to carry out scientific or other research.
