Description

Entering this nature reserve gives you the feeling of being in the jungle. Here the alders stand with their roots wet for most of the year and are surrounded by thick ferns. The alders are able to stand wet because they form plinths so that parts of the roots come above the water surface. This phenomenon also occurs in the more tropical mangrove forests, for example.
