Vindskyddet vid viltvattnet, Rinkebyskogen

This small marsh was once a meadow hayfield. A hundred years ago, it was drained to make way for fields. But it turned out not to be a successful field. So it was pretty much immediately allowed to grow back. In the 1990s, some work was carried out next to Enebyberg's forest road and they took the opportunity to fill in the marsh ditch with some stones at one point. It was done in a jiffy with a scoop of stone and soil. The water then rose quickly back to its original level. There is now a woodland again with the opportunity for the sun to reach down, and in the spring the frogs play in the marsh.
