Description
Many of the forests worthy of protection in the area are limestone coniferous forests with a good mix of aspen and other deciduous trees. The area's natural values are dependent on the varied, unspoiled and old forest structures. The trees in the forest, together with the good presence of dead wood, create important biotopes for vascular plants, cryptogams and fungi. Småbodarnas nature reserve is located north of Lake Bornan in the northern part of Norrtälje municipality. However, it is located a few kilometers from public roads and is most easily reached on foot or by bicycle along forest roads where public car traffic is not allowed.
