Description

Longer hiking trail between Fridafors at the Blekinge border in southern Småland and the Nydala monastery area in Nydala at the northern tip of Lake Rusken east of Värnamo 170 km.

Västra sigfridsleden is the Småland stage of the famous Pilgrimage Trail that stretches between Santiago de Compostela in northern Spain and Trondheim in Norway. Walking this entire 400-mile trail is a feat and experience of a lifetime, but one or a few days of walking through Småland is a good start and can be an amazing experience.

At present, the West Sigfrid Trail runs from Fridafors, through Växjö and Alvesta and then continues north through Moheda. The section through northern Alvesta offers untouched nature and ends in the Nydala Kloster area in Värnamo municipality. Along the trail there are many churches, attractions and places to visit.
