Description
Djupbäckens nature reserve is located on the north side of Ljusnan. The nature reserve includes the lower part of Djupbäcken before it flows into Ljusnan and a natural forest area. The area is located 1 mile west of Ljusdal and covers 5 hectares. It is home to several interesting and rare plants, such as knotweed, marsh marigold and the endangered bombardier's clover.
The old forest is one of the last natural forest areas in the valley of Mellanljusnan and is therefore valuable for several endangered plants and animals.
There are also ancient remains in the form of blast furnaces. Djupbäckens nature reserve is managed by Ljusdal municipality.
