Bleckbergens urskog, Naturreservat

Bleckbergen's primeval forest is magical and quiet. Inside the deep green, moss-covered forest, you can experience old, rough pines that are over 400 years old and spruces that can tell you about the time 250 years ago. Or you can hike the trail that runs through the reserve. The deep green, moss-covered forest and marsh offer fine nature experiences. The nature reserve is 4 hectares and is located on the western and southern slopes of a moraine ridge that juts out from the Bleck Mountains. The forest has been allowed to develop freely for a long time and therefore the area has acquired a primeval forest character with many standing and lying dead trees. Many species find their habitats in these environments and here you can see birds of prey, owls and woodpeckers. In the western part of the reserve there is a small marsh with several valuable plant species.

Valuable for many

The good availability of older trees and dead wood means that the species richness in the reserve is great. Lichen and wood fungi grow here, such as the large aspen tick, wood bustard, old spruce toad, woolly tick, crystal tick and violet mussel.
